Montreal, September 12, 2011 – Over 1.1 million viewers tuned in for the premiere of PRICE IS RIGHT: À VOUS DE JOUER! Wednesday at 7 p.m., on V, propelling the two-year old network, to a first-place finish in the time slot across all demographics. The Quebec adaptation of the beloved U.S. programme peaked at 1.2 million viewers in its second half-hour, setting a new viewership record for V and spearheading an exciting lineup of new and returning programs this fall.

Philippe Bond, an emerging Quebec comic, is the Host of PRICE IS RIGHT: À VOUS DE JOUER!, while Michel Lacroix, “the voice of the Montreal Canadiens,” is the Announcer, describing all the prizes and inviting contestants to “Come on Down”. Hostesses Martine Forget and Oksana Ryokova are also onboard the Quebec version of this classic show, which promises to deliver plenty of excitement this fall on V.

This fall, V is unveiling a line up for Quebec audiences featuring 12 new shows and 23 original Quebec productions. Anchored by 2010 breakout hit UN SOUPER PRESQUE PARFAIT, (a Quebec version of UK hit COME DINE WITH ME) the 5 to 7 block kicks off the night in style with programmes for the whole family. Popular Quebec celebrities Louis Morrissette (LES DÉTESTABLES), Mahée Paiement (ET QUE ÇA SAUTE), Josée Boudreault (DUO), and MC Gilles (BOUTIQUE MC GILLES) topline V’s new prime time shows, while outspoken attorney Anne-France Goldwater is set to become Quebec’s “Judge Judy” in L’ARBITRE. Olivier winner for “Comedian of the Year,” Jean-François Mercier returns for another season of his hit late night show UN GARS LE SOIR. V continues to be Quebec’s home for the best of U.S. television, with new seasons of critically-acclaimed dramas CSI: NY, THE MENTALIST, THE GOOD WIFE, and TRUE BLOOD.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT began its life in the U.S. back in 1956 and is still the highest-rated daytime show in the country. It continues to be a runaway success in more than 30 countries around the world. In the programme, contestants are invited to “Come on Down” from the studio audience to guess the correct price of normal, high-end street consumer goods. Winnings are big and the atmosphere is electric, with other audience members shouting encouragement. V has tailored the format to prime time, creating a weekly television event with a revamped decor, a thrilling atmosphere, and fantastic prizes.
